Coaching Profile:
Peter Lowe

The most rewarding and worthwhile part of my work in the NHS over the last twenty years has been supporting the development of colleagues I work with.  Helping people achieve their goals, whether for career progression or working towards personal objectives seems to be my purpose.

My measure of success is when someone achieves more than they thought they could. Several of my coachees have since secured promotions following coaching sessions. When people tell me that they feel empowered in any aspect of their lives, I know that I’m getting it right.

I first studied coaching and mentoring as part of an MBA in executive leadership.  I have also trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and The Institute of Leadership and Management Level 7 in Coaching and Mentoring.  I came across Nancy Kline’s Time to Think approach in 2013 and of all the coaching models, this is the one I feel the strongest connection with. This way of being continues to resonate with me the more I read and listen to her work.

I have a varied career background, having run my own business, worked in the private sector, local authority and then in the NHS.  Most recently I set up and lead the continuous improvement programme in a hospital and I thoroughly enjoy offering improvement support to staff across the whole organisation, who have so much passion for the services they provide.
